Most peoples encounter of hypnosis is either on the television with such performers as Derren Brown or attending live shows where the audience is put into a trance and asked to unwittingly perform tasks. Hypnosis, however, has also become a major influence in treating many social problems, nervous disorders and helping people to confidently function in society. Tests show that 85% of people are likely to respond to clinical hypnotherapy and in many instances its results have come after many other treatments have failed.
